We’re Arshia and Danika — two best friends who met at school and have been inseparable ever since. We’ve always talked about starting something together, and over the years, that idea turned into Bhangra Blends.
While we were at uni, we both worked part-time as bartenders. That’s where we started to notice how limited the drinks industry really was. Every cocktail felt the same — sweet, artificial, and completely disconnected from the cultures we grew up in. There was no real representation, no bold flavour, no spice.
My Indian and Danika’s Bengali heritage has meant that our homes have always been full of flavour. Our mums cooked with so many incredible ingredients — rose, cardamom, tamarind, jamun, ginger — and it made us realise just how much potential there was to bring those into drinks.
We were born and raised in the UK, but our heritage is a huge part of who we are. Bhangra Blends is about celebrating that — taking the flavours we love, reimagining them for today, and putting something truly different on the shelf.
What Makes Us Different?
We do two things really well:
- Flavour-forward cocktails and mocktails — with bold Indian ingredients like cardamom, tamarind, rose, and jamun
- Clean labels — no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no nonsense
Our cocktails are bar-strength and made to impress. Our mocktails hold their own, with layers of spice and fruit that actually taste like something... because being alcohol-free shouldn't mean being flavour-free.
Why It Matters
Bhangra Blends is more than just drinks in a can. It’s our way of showing up and making space. We're tired of culture being reduced to a festival theme or a token ingredient.
We want to represent the next generation of South Asian founders. We want the shelves to reflect the world we live in — loud, proud, diverse, and flavourful as hell.
We’re Just Getting Started
Launching Bhangra Blends hasn’t been easy. We’ve navigated flavour trials, production headaches, label stress, and fundraising chaos — all while being two brown girls in an industry that rarely hands us the mic.
But we’ve also built something we're really proud of. And if you're here, you’re now part of that story too.
